Most leaking gutter jobs trace back to the same short list: a joint where the union seal has perished, a run sagging because the brackets have pulled out of tired fascia, a cracked or broken section from frost or ladder damage, rust on older steel and cast iron, or an outlet that was never at the right fall. Each of them has a proper fix.
For a leaking joint that means re-sealing the union with the correct gutter sealant or fitting a new union — not a smear of mastic over the outside. For a sagging run it means re-bracketing to sound timber at correct centres and re-setting the fall so water reaches the outlet. For a single cracked length it can mean replacing just that section.
We repair rather than replace wherever repair is honest: a short re-seal that lasts is better for both of us than a replacement you did not need. But we will tell you when a system is beyond economic repair, in writing, with photos, before any work starts.

Do you fix leaking gutter joints?
Yes. Leaking unions and corners are the most common repair we do. The fix is a proper re-seal or a replacement union. Where brackets have let the run sag out of fall we re-hang the gutter so water reaches the outlet again.
How much does a gutter repair cost?
Our indicative 2026 range for a repair — leak, joint re-seal or bracket — is €150–€450, usually a half day. A downpipe repair or replacement is €120–€380 per pipe. Your quote is confirmed after an inspection.
Do you handle emergency gutter repairs?
Yes. Storm-torn gutters and downpipes dumping water down a wall are genuine emergencies. Call us and we will make it safe fast: we aim to be on site within 6 hours in Dublin. The €150 call-out fee is credited against the permanent repair.
Can cast iron gutters be repaired?
Often, yes. Cast iron can be re-sealed, re-hung and have sections replaced. Where it has rusted through at the back, replacement is the honest answer. Heritage work is covered on our gutter systems page.
When is a repair not worth doing?
When uPVC has gone brittle and chalky after 25+ years, or cast iron is rusted through at the back where you cannot see it. We will say so in writing and quote the replacement instead.
